Here are a couple of articles that make it look like PotC 4 might not happen, or at least they aren't as sure as they once were. ![]() Obsessed With Film Screen Rant |

That's strange as I did read part of that interview with the director not so long ago, and it sounded at the time like it was going to happen, or seemed that way at least. I'm still not sure if I still want to see another Pirates film, I think the sequels finished it, I know there's always a way to drag out another sequel from a series, but I can't see a way to continue it really. Plus I do like the tidiness of a trilogy, four is kind of uneven and scruffy looking. ![]() - Steven |

I really liked that second article. I think if the film doesn't get filmed this next year, but instead the one after, or if it comes out a year later than it may have, that won't necessarily be a bad thing. I really think time off will help. And it will be a new time to get a whole new generation into it (which is what they need, since a lot of us who were younger when it first came out are all grown up now). I do think the film will get made ultimately, there's just too much money to be made for Disney to let it go. |

One of the hardest things is to arrange all the actors and actresses involved to all be available at roughly the same time. That's why it was really smart to film DMC and AWE at the same time. So, much will hinge on this. Disney does see $$$ so they're going to push to make it happen if they possibly can. Plus, thankfully, Michael Eisner is out of the way, so Disney will be able to act more flexibly. |

Well, it's set to film in Hawaii, so looks like things are moving along. A shame Keira and Orlando won't be in the cast, though. |
