I've just gotten into this show (although I realise it made its American debut in November 2008)...I'm a little slow on these things.

It follows three characters (all played by the creator/writer, Chris Lilley) over the course of one term at the fictional Summer Heights High. The three characters are Mr. G (an extravagant, self deluded drama teacher); Ja'mie King (a carry over from his other series, We Can Be Heroes, a bratty private school girl who thinks she's good at everything); and Jonah Takalua (an Islander boy who constantly gets into trouble for being disruptive in class and bullying other students).

It's amazing to see an actor delve into each persona and play it with such believability and conviction. There are times, however, that watching a scene with Ja'mie makes me cringe. And sometimes Mr. G's over-the-top attitude can be hard to swallow. But he makes each character worthwhile, particularly Jonah.

I was wondering if anyone else around here has seen the series and Lilley's other work. I've just started to watch We Can Be Heroes (whatever I can find on YouTube).

Anyway, some funny moments from the series:

"Cause he's a ranga."
"A what?!"
"A ranga, sir!"

"I said puck you! With a p!"

"My teaching methods are fairly unique..."

"You've got thighs like an elephant and a face like a bloody horse! Who's going to want to pay to see you onstage? Who?! .... excellent, you handled that really well."
