I hope not, as the sequels were too long with the versions already out, but the way they've been at keeping that stuff away from eyes makes me wonder, at least there'll never be a Star Wars style special edition, with the effects altered, as the effects weren't so bad, apart from the fast motion in the first one anyway, that guy getting hit by the cannonball always bothers me, it looks like the lighting and camera and everything were different on top of the weird fast motion effect, or maybe it's just me who thinks that bit looks like it's from another film. How did I get onto that anyway?

Go us! not geeky in the slightest. When did Depp officially sign on for the project? it was on the news the other day that he signed for pirates and the lone ranger.

They announced that Johnny Depp was going to be doing three different movies for them: The Lone Ranger, Pirates 4, and Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. And I believe I saw a picture of Johnny Depp there. He was dressed as Jack Sparrow but he had a feather in his hair ala Tonto, who he will be playing in The Lone Ranger. (It was on his messageboard at IMDb.) So my guess would be sometime last fall.

See more at: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1298650/ May 2011 is the supposed release and filming will supposedly start in the summer of '10. Sadly, the on-air announcement claimed neither Keira Knightly nor Orlando Bloom would be returning... EDIT...
