With BSG coming back this season (and me unable to wade through the pages to resurrect the old thread), anyone catch the two newest shows? Love them, hate them?

Actually, I'm curious to know if anyone did their 'Join the Fight' game as a human or a cylon? I joined it because...well, I'm way too obsessed with the show, and a while ago, my friends and I (at my suggestion) chose call signs for each other like we were pilots on Galactica. Because I registered under my call sign, I thought I ought to join the humans, since my sympathies are also with them (and a certain Mr Lee Adama as well), otherwise I really would have considered joining the Cylons (as they seem to be falling behind, and never get enough love).

But in case anyone is on there and a human (or if they'll alternatively let cylons friend humans...which they should, and vice versa) I'd love to friend you, or you can friend me. I'm Instigator. Or if you want an invite onto it, I can send you one.:)

But...I'm just so psyched for the rest of the season, and can't wait until next friday.

Despite being a huge BSG fan (here's my old BSG thread, by the way) I never signed up for the Join the Fight thing. I am, however, very much looking forward to the last half of season 4. If I were to join a side it would probably be the Cylons as one of the best characters turned out to be one (Saul Tigh joins Martok in the one-eyed, sci-fi badasses' hall of fame) and a few of them seem to have a big thing for Starbuck so I'd be in good company, I'd happily join the Cylon chapter of the Kara Thrace Appreciation Society.

While it's a shame that the series is ending, I'm glad that they're not going to be dragging it out well past its prime *cough*SG-1*cough*X-Files*cough*. It's been an exceptional series and it's managed to keep me gripped even after several lengthy gaps between seasons. I will miss it but at least I have the DVD collection to keep me happy.

I just hope that Caprica will be able to live up to this series.

Hopefully Caprica will be good, as well as the myriad of other shows/tv movies/oneshots stuff they're going to film.

Anyway...I just must rejoice that during my New Year's Day Twilight Zone marathon (on the US Sci-Fi channel), there were loads of different promos for BSG, and now, I absolutely cannot wait for January 16th.

Well...I saw the finale...and if anyone else here did, I'd sure love to discuss it with them.

Sort of like shows like the original version of Life on Mars...I'm not entirely sure whether or not I liked the finale...and I think in the end...that may be the reason I like it. If I have to sit here, and think about the ending before I decide whether or not I like it, then maybe that show has served it's purpose.

I don't make a secret of the fact that, as a rule I tend to prefer unhappy endings that are open ended, (regardless of what BSG is or may be)...I think that I can settle for an ending that makes us think.

Well...whose looking forward to the Plan? Or Caprica?

I'm breaking radio silence for this thread and this thread alone.

I thought it was an excellent end to the series, had it been my choice I would probably have ended things very differently but I really don't think I could have ended it as well. This resolved things very well, weaving all the loose ends from the past four seasons into a good and definite conclusion. Sometimes I like open-ended stories but I think this was perfect just the way it was.

The Plan has an interesting premise and it'll be interesting to be able to look at that and compare it to how the Cylons were at the beginning of BSG. Also, I have my own reasons for wanting to see more of the Cylons.

Caprica doesn't really interest me that much any more. I think it just sounds too different, had it been based during or in the immediate run-up to the first Cylon war it would have been more appealing but I'll still give it a try.

Yeah. I think though, anyone would have ended it differently, just because most people had different ideas what the show was about, and what the main themes of the show were:

I'm excited about the Plan. Because having Cavil back again will be awesome.

Caprica is supposed to be different in tone and all, and it'll be definitely different with different themes, but I'm still excited about it. Not thrilled with the idea that they release it on DVD before they put it on TV, because I'm not keen on spending money to see it next month, when I can wait for the fall (or something, not sure exactly when they said it would air) to see it free-ish. Without paying to see it specifically.

Edit: I can't spell and leave out important words that are necessary to make grammatical sentences...and...wrote...a lot.
