There are two movies that I have an interest in seeing this year. Actually, they come out a month after each other. The first is the remake of Possession, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and Lee Pace. It's the story of a brother-in-law who assumes his brother's identity and goes after his wife. The second is much lighter fare, and that is Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day, starring Frances McDormand, Amy Adams (and Lee Pace. Yes, I love me some Lee, what can I say...) It's set in 1939-era London, and is about a down and out nanny who employs herself to a floozy American singer as her assistant. What about you guys?

Well, then... Cassandra's Dream (January 18th, limited release; wide release not yet announced) Cloverfield (January 18th) Fool's Gold (February 8th) In Bruges (February 8th, limited release; wide release not yet announced) Definitely, Maybe(February 14th) Jumper (February 14th) Possession (February 22nd) Vantage Point (February 22nd) 10,000 BC (March 7th) Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day (March 7th, limited release; wide release not yet announced) 21 (March 28th) Leatherheads (April 4th) Iron Man (May 2nd) The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (May 16th) Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (May 22nd) The Incredible Hulk (June 13th) Get Smart( June 20th) Wanted (June 27th) Hancock (July 2nd) Hellboy II: The Golden Army (July 11th) The Dark Knight (July 18th) The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (August 1st) Dragonball (August 15th) Punisher: Warzone (September 12th) Valkyrie (October 3rd) 007: Quantum of Solace (November 7th) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (November 21st) Well, that is a lot of movies, isn't it? My top must-see movies, though, are The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Bond 22, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Iron Man. For now, anyway. That'll likely change a lot come... next week. I mean, Oscar buzz and such changes the list constantly, as well as just hearing about new films, but thats my list for now just from looking at the release list on Comingsoon.Net. And no, I didn't miss Rambo, and I will probably see it, because my friends want to, but it does look godawful.

The only one of those I'm likely to see at the cinema is Prince Caspian (which, incidentally, a friend of mine is currently working on). The rest either hold no interest for me or can wait until they hit DVD. Narnia definitely deserves to be seen on the big screen. |

I'm glad I'm not the only one who wants to see Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day.
I forgot to mention two other films I'm looking forward to, and that is Righteous Kill (with DeNiro and Pacino, my favorite actors) as well as The Orphanage (although it came out in December of '07, it has not officially opened here yet). |

I'm looking forward to Harry Potter 6, and Twilight. I think Twilight's released in December '08. That's what the website says, so, yeah. I cannot wait for that film. I want to see Sweeney Todd, aswell, but I may have to wait for the DV for that =\ |

Some people look like they have a very busy year for the movies planned out. I think the only films I'll see this year will be Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, the Dark Knight, and the Star Trek prequel... Whoo-hoo for franchises. But that's only since the other films I want to see are apparently "independent" and not carried near me. I really wish they'd carry more documentaries. And while I'm at it...it would be really nice if the movies were cheaper. |

I'm sure this list is actually longer, but I'll put what I can think of. Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day (You guys aren't the only ones!) Prince Caspian 27 Dresses (I can't remember when it came out, but I haven't seen it yet) The Spiderwick Chronicles Step Up 2 (That's a big maybe.) Get Smart Horton Hears a Who Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Penelope (This was supposed to come out last March... then last August... now February 29th!) The Tale of Despereaux Twilight Indiana Jones 4 (Yes, I'm lazy and don't write the whole title :P) Wanted (depending on the rating) The Duchess (ditto. Not likely, though. :() Hoodwinked 2: Hood vs. Evil WALL-E That's all I can think of for now. I'm quite sure there are more, but after a day of teaching, my brain doesn't work very well. I'll be back. |

Anyone else anticipating that Natalie Portman/Eric Bana movie, The Other Boleyn Girl? I think it looks very good, I'm definitely going to see it. It comes out the week after next. ComingSoon.net page for 'The Other Boleyn Girl' EDIT: Fanboys Article Well, apparently they want to re-cut the film and remove the plot, basically. I seriously hope that they do NOT do that. While I can't join the 501st and say that I'm going to boycott Weinstein movies because of it, I will be incredibly pissed if they do that. EDIT: New 'Wanted' trailer That looks very very cool. I'm psyched for it, because I really like James McAvoy, and that movie just looks awesome as hell. Not unlike Shoot 'em Up, which I really loved. EDIT: Can't believe I'm about to say this, but here's the trailer for the direct-to-DVD "The Lost Boys: The Tribe", and it actually looks pretty damn cool. I'll pick it up, for sure. |

I'm not sure if this is in the US, but I want to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It looks really good. Plus, I like Russell Brand. I think he's a good actor. |
