Dearest Jack, I would love to open a bottle of rum with you, but we would probably have to meet on your ship to do it. I've never been on a ship as big as yours. It looks like a lot of fun, but I have to admit, it makes me a little nervous. Are women usually nervous the first time they board your ship? Love, Monkey Dear Norrington, Where do you see yourself in ten years? Do you think you'll still be on the Dutchman and working for Beckett? Do you think you might find another fine woman to be your wife? Sincerely, Monkey |

He's a Lord, Actually...

Steven, My Christmas day is often spend in service to the Company. A holiday is not an excuse to stop working, especially because a holiday puts people at ease, and allows you to pull ahead of the competition. Sincerely, Lord Cutler Beckett PS. It is not a word. You may wish to eliminate it from your vocabulary. Norrington, I believe it is time you learned that your place is to obey, not to question. I would have thought that a former Navyman would have learned this. Pray that you do not continue to prove yourself unworthy of the post that you now hold. Sincerely, Lord Cutler Beckett Alia, I do not know, can you? One would hope that leaders would exercise power, not ask for others to allow them to. Sincerely, Lord Cutler Beckett Pirategirl, Perhaps, if you make it worth my while, I may tell. Until then, you will find me to be rather reticent on that topic. And the same as above, you should learn to simply exercise your power, not be hesitant in its uses. Perhaps if you do, I may be able to find you a spot of employment with the East India Company. We have excellent benefits. More so than can ever be gained by piracy. I rather enjoy treatises on topics such as trade, and books that are...rather 'princely' in their nature. Sincerely, Lord Cutler Beckett Liz, I should jump at the opportunity to see the future. A man who knows what is to come, is the surer to turn a profit. Sincerely, Lord Cutler Beckett 'Miss' Swann, I have heard no such rumours about myself, but I cannot confess that I find them surprising. Jealous people will say whatever they can to tarnish a good man's reputation. Those of true standing understand such a concept, which does point out that your social education was thoroughly lacking. I am, however, not without generosity. If you were to acquire certain items for me, or to pass on certain information, a pardon for you and your betrothed could be arranged. Sincerely, Lord Cutler Beckett Eyemcool, My first desire was solid and dense, cool in my palm, and that when struck together with others of its kind, made a sound more beautiful than any other in creation. It is quite good, then, that I have plenty of that which I desire. Sincerely, Lord Cutler Beckett Anne, A new face, I see, to these parts. And one who has a love of crafting words with an elegance to them. I am, as you correctly posit, a man who appreciates Machiavelli for the truths which he speaks. All other things that I desire, respect, time to enjoy the fruits of my labour, quiet moments, time with intellectually stimulating company, can all be achieved once my plans have come to fruition. Perhaps then, I shall invite you to find out what they are. Sincerely, Lord Cutler Beckett Alia, Such trying questions...if anything is annoying it is these. As anyone should know, trickery and deceit are only practical if there is something to be gained from them. "Fun" is not a desirable outcome that is of any value from such parlor inanity. If however, you can raise your aims and redirect your energies to achieving great goals...then perhaps there is some value. Sincerely, Lord Cutler Beckett |

Dear everyone, I miss a lot of people who used to hang out here. In Parley. A lot of them just upped and left and now it's a small group of people left. Any ideas on how can we get them back? Or should we just wait until they come back of their own accord? ![]() Take care, Su |

Dear LizzieTomb, "Oh, yes, there are still pirates in our time" Aha! I knew it. Trying to eradicate piracy... What a laugh. "Have you ever desired to have a fleet of your own, akin to what you promised Barbossa? You'd take the Pearl as your flagship, but have others under you? Or would that be more trouble than it's worth?" It might be interesting to amass a fleet like that for a singularly large venture. That will leave a nice impression, to be sure. (It worked for Morgan, and how uninspired was that venture, really?) Catch everyone off guard, become an immortal legend... But there's a reason it hasn't been done since Morgan, love. Few men can be trusted farther than you can throw them, and pirates are no exception to that rule. If a venture required it, and if it could somehow, miraculously, be arranged - then yes, I might enjoy heading a fleet for the occasion. But beyond that? I'd rather consume Barbossa's moth-eaten hat. Yours, Captain Jack Sparrow Dear Eyemcool, "Who was your first major crush and why?" A blonde tavern wench in Plymouth. Huge... mugs of rum. Yours, Captain Jack Sparrow To the flattering and well-informed Mistress Anne, "From the four corners of the world news comes in forms of tall tales and speculations about your nature and what sort of man you are... not all of them complimentary, I assure you." No? Well, complimentary, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. "if you had control over the wagging tongues of others...what would it be that you would have them say about you down the ages?" That I am a great pirate, who sails the seas, going where he wants to go, taking what he wants to take, unstoppable and undefeated. So nothing more than the truth, really. Yours, Captain Jack Sparrow Admiral, "You do nothing but insult her integrity with your puerile advances." Is that so? As it happens, she has kissed me - and I do not mean a harmless peck on the cheek, either. "how is it co-commanding a vessel with Captain Barbossa? A man, who, if I recall the stories correctly, mutinied upon you, and left you to die on several occasions. And he was there to rescue you from the Locker." Him, rescue me? Now, Admiral... Why would a man who, as you so astutely pointed out, tried to kill me on several occasions, risk life and limb and go to the ends of the earth to rescue me? That sounds a bit unlikely, wouldn't you say? And I am not co-commanding anything. The Pearl is mine, and always has been. You had better inform your master that his intelligence is sadly lacking. Captain Jack Sparrow Dear Monkey, "I've never been on a ship as big as yours. It looks like a lot of fun, but I have to admit, it makes me a little nervous. Are women usually nervous the first time they board your ship?" Some are. But you have nothing to worry about, love. We'll take it slowly, have a little rum to take the edge off the seasickness... You'll be enjoying yourself in no time. Yours, Captain Jack Sparrow Dear Oohlala, "Are you fans of practical jokes? Do you find them annoying? Do you enjoy playing them on others, but not yourself?" Practical jokes can be fun. Even (if rarely) those played on me. It depends on who's doing what to whom, and the impression it leaves on others. Yours, Captain Jack Sparrow Dear Su, "I miss a lot of people who used to hang out here. [...] Any ideas on how can we get them back? Or should we just wait until they come back of their own accord?" People come and people go, and nothing stays the same. You can't decide the shape of the world. You can only take what you have to work with, and twist and tweak it so as to use it to its best advantage. Yours, Captain Jack Sparrow |

Governor's Daughter

"Dear Elizabeth, So, Miss Swann, if Will had never been born, do you think you would have ended up marrying Norrington, despite the fact that you were not in love with him? Love, Liz " Dear Liz, It's always difficult to say how things would have turned out if circumstances were different because one has no way of truly knowing. You should also be aware that people in my time do not always have the luxury of marrying for love. Many people marry because of what is expected of them or where it will get them. Fortunately for some, they can have just as successful a marriage as those who do marry for love. That being said, I do think there is a distinct possibility that I could have ended up married to James if things were different. He is a fine man who would love and support the woman he loved with every fiber of his being. I think I could have grown to love him; however, there would always be that part of me that longed for the freedom I would have to give up by making that choice. Goodness, such speculations can be both interesting and painful. That is why I don't often engage in them. Sincerely, Elizabeth --- "Dear Lizzy, "What you've won? Well, let me see. You've won the satisfaction of finding me speechless without a witty retort in response to your unexpected comment. Why? What did you think you'd won?" I was hoping for satisfaction of a different sort. Although, considering what happened when you merely kissed me, I shudder to think where that would get me. Perhaps it's all for the best... Distantly, Captain Jack Sparrow" Dear Jack, Well, I suppose I'll never hear the end of that one. I'll be interested to see just how distant you can remain in such close quarters as these. But this could be good. It will give you a chance to actually figure out how to get us all out of this predicament. Captain. Cordially yours, Elizabeth --- "Who was your first major crush and why?" Dear Eyemcool, The last summer I spent with my cousins in England, I thought my cousins' tutor was quite handsome and often contrived reasons to interrupt my cousins' lessons. However, that was trivial and didn't last very long. I would say that my first major crush would have been Will. I'm sure I don't have to explain the reasoning behind that. Sincerely, Elizabeth --- "Dear All (including Poo-kins), Are you fans of practical jokes? Do you find them annoying? Do you enjoy playing them on others, but not yourself? -Alia " Dear Alia, Practical jokes were fun when I was a child, but I've long since grown out of that. In these emotionally charged times, I'm not sure that I would appreciate them at all. Sincerely, Elizabeth --- "'Miss' Swann, I have heard no such rumours about myself, but I cannot confess that I find them surprising. Sincerely, Lord Cutler Beckett" Beckett, I think that you will find ignoring those of lower social standing could get you into trouble one day. People can be surprising, and the power of the people is greater than you may realize, having spent so long deluding yourself about your superiority. I am not naive enough to believe that you would actually follow through with any bargain. Nor do I have any desire to assist you in any way. Will and I can fend for ourselves, so we have no need for your so-called "generosity." Miss Swann --- "Dear everyone, I miss a lot of people who used to hang out here. In Parley. A lot of them just upped and left and now it's a small group of people left. Any ideas on how can we get them back? Or should we just wait until they come back of their own accord? Take care, Su " Dear Su, While I too would be glad to find a way to bring back all the people who once visited Parley, I fear that is up to them. Life often takes people in different directions, and sad as it may be, we have to let them make their own decisions. However, we can make the most of the people that still remain! These are true friends indeed who have stayed with us so long, and we shouldn't take them for granted. Sincerely, Elizabeth --- "Elizabeth, You say darker greens are your favorite color? Were they going to be incorporated into your wedding? If you want help decorating when you get back to Port Royal, do let me know. Sincerely, Ilisa" Dear Ilisa, While I do like greens, most of my wedding decorations did not have a lot of color in them. The simple creams and golds that were used were very elegant, however, and I was sorry to see them ruined in the rain. I do appreciate your offer, but I fear I will not return to Port Royal. There isn't really anything left for me there. I am considered a fugitive at this time, and the only thing that I regretted leaving behind was my father, and he is no longer living. When Will and I get married, we will most likely be living some place else. Sincerely, Elizabeth |

Monkey, Ten years seems like such a long time from now, but no, I do not think I shall be on the Dutchman. If I have my way, I do hope to be retired, or perhaps...I could enter politics. I would not mind serving my countrymen in Parliament. If I do retire, and serve as an MP, then I do believe I might begin looking again for a wife. It all depends on how I feel then, I should suppose. Regards, Admiral Norrington, EIC Alia, Having been on the receiving end of many a joke, I cannot say that when they are directed at my person I find them entertaining. I have, however, been witness to a few that were of high calibre in planning and execution, and were quite entertaining. Regards, Admiral Norrington, EIC Su, We could send out a press gang to recruit new members? Lieutenant Gillette may be willing to assist here... Regards, Admiral Norrington, EIC Sparrow, "That sounds a bit unlikely, wouldn't you say?" Indeed. Of course I also heard, and was informed by sources above suspicion that you were dead. Curious, isn't it? I've learned not to make some assumptions, since even enemies can become allies. -Norrington |

Dear James, Your double has now been in a serial moving picture on a kind of visual box and the show that he is in arises a question in mine heart. Do you think that there are endless universes in which all our choices and their consequences play out? Like, if I chose to go to university in one universe but in another universe I choose to travel the world. Do you think there's endless copies of us going around leading so many different lives? Your Su |

Well this is interesting. I think I'll give it whirl. Lord Beckett, I noticed in your office back in Port Royale a very large map covering your Northern wall. How long did that take to paint? Admiral Norrington, Do you miss the Interceptor? Was she your favorite ship? Captain Jack Sparrow, I saw you at Disneyland awhile ago. Was it fun? Miss Elizabeth Swann, When you were living in England, did you know anyone named Alice Liddell? If so, were you friends? I think that is all for now. Thank you everyone. Mr Hatter, Given that I had employed at most one or two men to paint it (one of whom we brought with us, and the other apparently the only painter of any talent in Port Royale), it took quite a while, since there was an insistence upon quality. I would estimate that it took nearly a month to complete, but is quite worth the time, no? Sincerely, Lord Cutler Beckett |

Lord Beckett, A Month? That is all? And to think that my stained glass window is taking nearly four. But yes, absolutely worth the time, effort, and money. It is a beautiful map. I am quite jealous, to be honest. |
