I find myself in agreement with this statement. I...people are probably going to hate me, but I was never really into the whole Doctor/Rose thing. I can understand her feelings for the Doctor, completely, I mean...he's practically like a prince coming in on a white horse and sweeping you off, and that is something that a lot of people like, but I was more uneasy with the fact that he reciprocated those feelings. Within the context of the relaunch...it does fit in I guess with how they're framing the show, but I still didn't care for that bit. Now, I liked Martha, and have to admit I've got a huge crush on her, and she's one of my favorite companions of the new series (vying with Captain Jack), but what I really liked about her story was that she was in love with the Doctor, but he didn't have those feelings for her. It just felt...more realistic to me, and that's what I loved about her story arch. I guess it's something I certainly sympathize with a lot better than finding the right one (and then subsequently losing them...twice). I can live with them bringing in another young woman to be the companion, but I just don't want to see them retread the falling in love with the Doctor thing again. It's been done, and gotten old. |

I feel really sorry for Matt Smith... there has been soooooooooooo much wank over him as 11, the poor guy must be crapping it over taking over from such a well loved Doctor. 10 will always be my Doctor but as sad as I am to see him go I'm looking forward to getting to know 11!
