Here is the place for you to discuss things that need to be fixed about our Parley-made script. Or just to discuss the script in general. Constructive criticism is appreciated!
And once it's done, I'll add pretty fonts and colors and things, so it will look very nice. ![]() Link to script |

Great job so far. There's a line by Barbossa at the very beginning when Elizabeth has the knife against Tai Huang's throat. Unfortunately, I don't remember the ending of the line. After she says "And what makes you think I need protecting?" Barbossa says "Your master is expecting us and an unexpected death would put a [pall on our meeting or something along those lines]. |

Got it! I didn't add it before because I have this fear of quoting things inaccurately, but today when I went to see AWE, that was one of the many (many, many) notes I took. So it's there! I actually took loads of notes, so I'll slowly be adding them to the script. But seriously, keep the suggestions coming! |

Wonderful job! You either have a great memory or you've seen the movie at least ten times!
Anyway, these will need cleaning up before you add them to the script, but here is a couple of your missing parts.Bootstrap and Elizabeth abord the Dutchman Bootstrap: He won't come. Elizabeth: Of course he will come, you're his father. Bootstrap: He told me about you, he won't come because of you. Elizabeth: Me? Bootstrap: You're Elizabeth. Elizabeth: Yes, I'm Elizabeth. Bootstrap: Whoever stabs the heart must replace it with his own. (more lines?) Elizabeth: I understand. Bootstrap: He won't pick me...I wouldn't pick me. Tell him not to come. Tell him it's too late, I'm already a part of the ship. Elizabeth: Bootstrap? Bootstrap: You know my name? Elizabeth: Yes, I know you son, Will. Bootstrap: William! He's comming for me...he's comming for me, wait and see. _____________ At the Brethren Court Barbossa: Present ye your peices of eight to prove your a Pirate Lord and your right to be heard. (?) Pintell: It's just a bunch of junk! Gibbs: Aye, when the Brethren Court first convened they meant to bind Calypso with nine peices of eight, but as it turns out they were all skint broke. (more here?) Pintell: Then change the name. Gibbs: What, to "Nine Pieces of Whatever We Hapened to Have in Our Pocket At the Time"? oh yes, that sounds real piratey. ____________ This is as close as I can remember, but I know there are some mistakes, so if anyone sees any speak up. Like I said, this needs some clearing up first.
Oh, btw "sharkface's" name is Maccus

Okay, now that I've bought the Junior Novelization (finally!), I've added more to the script. Most dollar theatres (at least in the US) should have AWE there right now. Ours does; it's just a matter of me finding time in my insanely busy schedule to go watch it. But if you go and happen to catch an of the missing lines or lines that we're not sure about, please feel free to add it to the discussion. We are so very close!

Double post over a year later! Wow! So, I'm not really sure what possessed me, but for some reason, this afternoon, I decided this script needed to be done. 6 hours later, it basically is! Huzzah! There a few lines or words that I'm a little stuck on, so I will list them, and if any of you are feeling adventurous and want to check them out on your own DVD, feel free to come back to this thread and let me know what they are. Here we go: #1: Okay, Scene 8: Davy Jones' Locker. Jack has just shot the peanut-eating Jack, and he says, "Haul the halyard! Slacken braces!" The Jolly-Roger-tattooed Jack says, "Aye Cap'n! Slacken braces! Step lively! With a will!" All the Jacks on deck then scatter, saying, "Aye, aye! Right away sir." Then they all scatter, and you can hear bits of things. I swear I can hear a Jack in the background say something like, "I've found a fire down below!" But I'm not positive. #2: Just after this part, after the chicken Jack and the goat-loving Jack, one of the Jacks says, "Haul the sheets! Handsomely, boys!" and then... something. We had originally thought he said something about, "Scan the horizon..." and then we coulnd't figure out the rest of the line. But I don't think that's what he says. #3: Scene 23: The Pirate Code. Ah, the famous cuttlefish mystery. I listened and watched Johnny Depp's lips and spelled it out phonetically and ended up with "flipicanorious," which turns out not to be a real word. Someone once said they were going to write T&T and ask on their website. Any luck with that? #4: Scene 26: Releasing Calypso. We need a French speaker for this one. After Calypso grows and then starts yelling at them, it looks like the first word she said was the first word she said in the incantation she spoke before they went over the edge, malfaiteur (see Scene 7). I only know this because it was in the junior novelization, so I can't really understand the rest. Anyone speak French and want to take a stab at it? #5: Scene 27: The Final Storm. Right after the Flying Dutchman Jack drops his brain, Gibbs yells some orders on the Pearl, which I have. Then on the Dutchman, Mercer yells, "Main (something) at the ready!" I have the hardest time with his accent sometimes. Someone want to help me out there? And honestly, other than those 5, we have it all! Amazing. It's interesting the little things you notice when you're scrutinizing everything so carefully. For instance, right before Norrington shot down the lines on the Dutchman, I realized Elizabeth was starting to crawl back towards him in order to help him, so that's why he shot the lines down. In order to keep her from coming back and getting killed herself. Maybe you already knew that, but I didn't realized it until now! |

I felt like watching the movie again and paid attention to the scenes you mentioned. I watched them with English subtitles and this is what came out: #1: The subtitles say that Jack says "I want a fire down below" and it actually makes sense when you hear it again. #2: The line should be "Scandalise the lateens". #3: The subtitles say something like "Flipping glorious little sausages" but I'm not quite sure it's exactly what Jack says. I can't hear him utter the word 'glorious'. #4: I watched this scene again with English subtitles for the hearing impaired, which say that Tia 'yells indistinct incantation'. Malfaiteur seems right tho but I can't understand any other words. #5: This should be "Main battery at the ready". Not quite sure if I heared the 'battery' part but it makes sense, doesn't it ![]() I hope this helped! ^^ |

Woohoo! Thanks muchly, Hoping! My computer doesn't do subtitles, and I haven't had time to try again on the DVD player downstairs. This helped bunches! #1: That was my other guess. And you're right, it does make sense.#2: Excellent! I was really confused, so I looked it up on dictionary.com and it makes perfect sense. Lateens are a type of sail, and "scandalise" is a nautical term meaning "to spill the wind from or reduce the exposed area of (a sail) in an unusual manner." Cool, new nautical term! #3: People have mentioned that's what the subtitles said before, but like you, I don't hear "glorious." Still working on that one. #4: We still need a French speaker to solve this one for us! #5: I think that's exactly right. After 5 hours of AWE, my brain couldn't handle Mercer's accent. So good job.

I'm glad I could help!
I'll see if some of my friends can do something with the Calypso part. French is supposed to be our second language here
 but I've been neglecting it for the past 4 years.
