Basically this is because of the fact that we've got three PotC movies down, potentially more to go, and...over all here on Parley the response to AWE has been mixed. People who loved it, others hated it, others were in between. So if you could ask Ted and Terry any question, about any of the three movies, why they decided to do something, write someone the way they did, if they wanted things to end differently, basically anything relating to PotC, what would you ask? For myself...I think I would want to ask about why there was the drastic change in Norrington's character from CotBP to DMC--why did they want to have him be so different from the honorable and good individual he was? A change that drastic can occur, but not without many, many good reasons, and I'd sort of like to hear the writers' view on this--including whether or not they always thought that Norrington had that darker side (and yes, I know in a previous draft he was a villain who sided with Barbossa), or if they thought that he had to change? Stuff along those lines. |

Good question, Alia! Since AWE there have been several things... some not so nice () that I've wanted to say to the writers. To narrow it down to just one question is hard, but I'll try. By the way, I like your question. If I had time for more questions, I would ask about Norrington nearly right away. Norrington is one of my favorite characters and his slowly diminishing importance throughout the series has always bothered me... particularly, his role (or lack thereof) in AWE pissed me off entirely. But anyways thats not my question.. I think to wrap it all into one question, I would ask them why they chose to go in such a new direction for AWE and (in my opinion) veer farther away from what had made DMC and COTBP so special. Why they chose to either kill off or drastically change the personalities of those characters from before, and introduce all new ones. Why they chose to lessen the importance of some characters (who so far had done very well for them) and give far more importance to others. Why they chose to start an entirely new plotline and not wrap up DMC as well as they could have.. why they chose to attempt for AWE to be so epic and different when the original and simplistic charm of COTBP and DMC had already worked for them in the past. I guess my question isn't fair because it expands into many broader questions, but rather than just going for the "Why was Liz more important than everyone else, and Jack was clinically insane" approach, perhaps that can be a sub-question and I can get away with asking more than one thing I guess thats not really fair.. and probably this is my very biased opinion.. but thats my question

Ooh, narrowing it down would be difficult. I am really curious about how they feel about the whole if-Liz-is-faithful-for-ten-years-then-Binky'll-be-able-to-leave-the-Dutchman thing being cut. I mean, that's really important. As it is now, they royally scr*wed over Will and Liz at the end there. I'm serious, it'd be happier for me if they just died. But, that other ending, though still really depressing, would not have been as bad. It's a really important part of the plot, too, so to cut it for time is just... gah. Yes, Iwould really like to know how they feel about that. If I could ask more than one, I would also like to know why they cut down Norrington to less than 5 minutes of screen time in AWE when he was such an important character in the first two, and also why they felt the need to kill off virtually everyone in AWE. Yes, AWE's the newest one, so it's on my mind, so at the moment it's what all my questions would focus on. |

I'd say the faithful for 10 years thing would be right up there. That's the most confusing question I think for almost everyone. The Norrington thing bothers me a little, but I've been pro-pirate/Norrie-is-annoying since Curse. I like him a lot in DMC, like.. way more than in the other two. He's all scruffy and bad-ass. But again, he's all bad-ass in the 3-way fight just to go crawling back to the wig-wearing circus and beg to be let back in. Ew. I'm not saying he deserves a cameo in AWE and be killed off for really no good reason by another good guy with a stick, but he's definately not my favorite character. |

I'd ask why they decided to make a movie based on a ride, just a thought really, whether they wrote a pirate story and adapted it around the ride, or wrote a story around the ride itself. |
