I thought about putting this in the DMC forum, but I figured more people frequent this one. Here's a link to Terry Rossio's myspace blog...I found it to be quite interesting. http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...34-59b38b20e6bc |

I read that one a while ago, but it seems...well...it didn't seem all too updated to me. Which I would understand--he's got a job (one that many on here I am sure would certainly envy him for, myself included...I mean...really writing for money--talk about a wonderful thing!) and all. Mr Rossio his stuff is interesting and engaging to read. He pokes fun at himself often enough in it that it makes for him reading as humble and everything--it gives you that feel certainly. I'd like to hear his thoughts though, on what he thought of the reviews of AWE. I know I panned the film, but I do like to hear their explanations and such of things--it's always enlightening to look at something from a new and different point of view--part of why it's so great that there are those on here who like the film, others who don't (though I wish that we could all like the film, myself included), because it allows you that...other viewpoint. Other views and thoughts seem to be greatly underappreciated in this day and age. Though I would like to hear about what he as a writer felt should have stayed in the film, etc, might not have been so good, reasons why he did certain things. That would be interesting. |

I quite agree with you, Will. What I really enjoyed was his pondering about what should or shouldn't have stayed in the movie, and his struggles with the other people "higher up" working on it; it does make Hollywood seem more human. I don't remember exactly what it said but I remember that I felt...not smug, smug isn't the word...nor content...anyway, after he said he wished that they had kept more lines in the movie that would appeal to fans, like the "innocent bystander" and "wager to fall out first" lines. I almost felt like applauding; I did nod and grunt to myself in agreement. |
