The angrier I get, the bigger the words I use anyway. Apart from when I'm drunk, then I punch people. When I read a lot of Shakespeare I notice the tendency to think more in that style of language.

Me and my friend watched Romeo and Juliet a few weeks ago for her homework, and for the rest of the week we were trying to Shakespeare insult each other.

I would say "I bite my thumb at ye!"

And she would say something similar, and so on and so forth.

Eventually we were told we were being dumb, and we stopped.

That's only because people didn't understand you, so they thought you were being dumb, when in reality they were being dumb.

Did that make any sense?

 Figure this is the right thread for this.. Happy Ides of March, everyone! I'm a loser... So shoot me. :D But my teacher gave out extra credit if you mentioned it to him first, and this other girl just beat me! Argh.

No really, its just because we finished reading Julius Caesar for school last week.. and I was Caesar, so that was fun. I actually really liked that play, and I found it interesting that SHakespeare made a mistake in this one, or they think he did... how he mentions Portia's death twice. But it was a really good play, I thought. And now I'm writing my essay on it, so thats why its stuck in my head. Lol.

Happy Ides of March Dish! I hadn't even thought about that until you mentioned it. It's been a while since I read Julius Caesar...

Ahhhh, the Ides of March! I hadn't thought of that either. I haven't thought of Julius Caesar since we read it in sophomore year...I just didn't care for it, dunno.

Happy (late) ides of March!

Sorry, double post... :(

But anywho, my roomie's theatre class is studying Othello right now, so I emailed the professor and he's letting me sit in on the class while they do that. Yay! I actually get to study my fave play!

Yeah...my roomie was also supposed to have it read for yesterday, but she didn't so I recapped it for her Sunday night. It was...interesting. So now I'm writing it in my own language. Which is funny, because I'm quite the Shakespearean purist with this kind of stuff, but hey, it's just for me and my own amusement. And anyone else who wants to laugh. *shrugs*

(Yay for pointless posts!)

I read Othello in one of my theatre classes back in high school. I remember having to read for Bianca and usually I don't have a problem digesting or understanding his work, but for some reason the text was hard for me to comprehend. Outside of that aspect, it is truly one of his greatest tragedies.

I just had an acting troupe come to my school and performed King Lear. It was pretty good. But it's too bad the 9 out of 10 freshmen are too immature to appreciate it and quit talking. So there was constant talking and you couldn't really hear what they were saying. So I got the general idea of what happened but it was hard to concentrate.
