Let's face it we all have songs and bands we hate beyond all reason. I will confess the Evanescence thread inspired this but I'm sure there is some music we all feel so strongly about. Evanescence: I went out with someone for 2 years who was a devoted Evanescence fan (I have even been to an Evanescence concert with said ex) and I can't stand the self pitying whining of Amy Lee and co. Having not heard the new album I can only go on what Fallen has shown me that their songs are samey and cater to lovesick teenagers and emos/goths. My Chemical Romance: What is the fuss about? When I hear them referred to as 'punk' it makes me want to vomit (This goes for Panic! At The Disco too). Well done for kicking drink and drugs but evangelisim irritates me. I'm sure selling tens of thousands of records is a painful experience and must be so upsetting but I really am fed up with hearing about how much the band have overcome amidst their vast riches. For the record the Sex Pistols, the Clash, the Damned and the Dead Kennedys are punk, My Chemical Romance are not. Green Day: Billie Joe Armstrong you are not Jesus, get over it. You may be fairly entertaining but you aren't the saviours of punk rock. From a purely aesthetic perspective: Aiden: wiL; stop being pretentious and capitalise your name correctly and for the record, the 'Crow' look is so over. All for now, Will |

Well I like Green Day.
But........I don't really enjoy listening to anything sloooow. Like, slow songs for example. As for the band........erm..............I'd have to say I agree with you on Evanscence. They are terrible!!! Ugh! One song and that was it for me. <_<

I like MCR, they're nowhere near punk, and I can't stand that "Not OK" Song, but their other stuff is good. Punk, there's not been much punk in the last... well since the 80's, kids dress like punk but they're just whiney voiced talentless... um... any word I put there will be censored, like Good Charlotte or Green Day, what the... how's that considered punk? But for the all out most hated band it has to be The Darkness, that guy, he can't sing, he just squeals very loudly like a pig having its internal organs cooked, and that's not including the fact I have sensitive hearing or something and his voice hits some kind of level which causes me physical pain at times, I hate them. <_< Oh, and dance... it's not music but a collection of repetitive sounds, it sends me to sleep which is the only good thing about it, and pop, for the most part it's just songs about sex which is a real good thing when the target audience is little kids, it's even worse than rap which used to mean something but now is just a shopping list of products alongside every stereotypical rap term possible, it's almost self parody. |

Just another pop at pop, but it's also mostly cover versions of songs the audience is too young to know the originals of, and one other so called music, but jazz, that's just a bunch of people playing extended solos at the same time, avoiding any rhythm and coming up with something which sounds like a fart in a balloon factory. |

So, a lot of you hate bands because they are referred to as punk but they aren't? That's a good reason, yeah, considering that they have no control over what they are called by the people who listen to the music. Infact, let's hunt down Eminem because white guys arent supposed to rap! Hmmm, bands I don't like... Well I will listen to a lot of bands actually. They don't make me want to vomit or anything, it's just music, yes? I really don't like the singers like Britney Spears and stuff. Rap isn't music. And boybands... argh.... I am not looking forward to the rise of them.
Lol.... ![]() I don't see a problem with that. It is his name, he can use it the way he wants. Isn't that the new question? Green Day:Punk or Not. People hate them because they 'sold out'... One, you like them before they were popular, yes, the music hasnt changed, they just ahve some new fans. And they deserve the attention! They've worked hard to make it big. For Green Day, yeh the sound changed but they are in their 30s- they can't pretend to be teenage outcasts forever! Same goes for anyother 'sold out' band. And also, I agree with Stevens above post!

Besides hating all forms of rap music (Seriously, I'm 25 and I thnik it's not music. It's pathetic), I CAN'T stand MCR and Panic at the Disco. Panic sings a song about top hats. WTF?! I want to bitch-slap the person who wrote that song. On that note, I'm not really a fan of any of the new bands. I find them all so generic, they sound the same. Sure, there's some new bands I like (Three Days Grace comes to mind), but everything else is all the same. They have one big song and then they're gone. |

Well, I like all the rock bands mentioned, Panic! At The Disco, Green Day, Aiden, Evanescence, My Chemical Romance etc, but each to their own. I do find it unfair however that artists are getting judged because of their names and style. I mean, I can't stand all rap and most pop. I'm sure most rappers and popstars are nice people, but I just dislike their music.
Panic! Only have one song where they mention tophats twice, that is it, right at the beginning. You must have turned it off too soon...:P |

Hah, I am a fan of P!ATD and I for one can not think of a song about top hats... maybe you just don't get the meaning? They aren't dreadfully obvious about the meanings. The mention top hats twice maybe. But its better than singing: I take you to the candy shop, I'll letcha lick the lollipop None of us knows what THAT means. XD And also I had to post because it reminds me that I don't like 50 Cent, The Game, Madonna..... Its rap and poppish singers really for me. |

Hey, I told you. I hate them. I'm not gonna listen to one of their songs. The only reason I heard that one is because my idiot of a friend likes them. Glad to see I'm not the only one here who doesn't like rap, though.

*grabs helmet before entering thread* posting before I forget and lapse back into "but I don't hate any music". While I don't mind rap and R&B so much, it's just that there's so many rappers and R&B artists that are all kinda samey. Oh and I just remembered one band that I really don't like. Coldplay *ducks just in case*, sorry but it I just don't like them. Most of their songs are kinda the same as each other. *dear god I'm on a roll now* I also reaaaalllyy don't like Travis. I know this kinda sounds like what I just said about Coldplay but in this case some of their songs ARE almost exactly the same. |

Coldplay!
You're right, they do sound the same, I think I like one or two songs by them, the rest are just cover versions of those songs. Ugh, Eminem, why did he have to be mentioned? he was ok at one point, until his songs became self obsessed, how many times does he have to sing about his past when we all know he's exaggerating it? the rest of it is just insults to people, yep, that's music. As for Panic At The Disco, what little I've heard of them sounds ridiculously like Fall Out Boy, the only thing I can say is good about them is their impression. |

R&B is icky and should not be classified as "Music" in my opinion. It always gets on my nerves. Rap is also irritating. I like a couple of songs by Eminem but that's it. |

Jumping Judas on a unicycle, don't get me started on R&B! I like real rhythm and blues, I don't see how such rubbish is allowed to use that name. From what I gather R&B no longer has any decent rhythm (thumping bass is not the same thing) and certainly no blues. The young people's music makes me cry. On a side note; remember people this is the 'I want to rant about the music I really hate' thread. It's not for 'Well I like them, I don't think you understand *insert fad of the day here*, their use of symbolism is amazing.' That's for the 'I love...' threads. Let all your anger out. Who do you really think is a talentless waste of space and airwaves? Will |

I thought I'd finished my rambles because most of the time I can avoid the sort of music I don't like, but holy crap, the other day in HMV they were playing the new Robbie Williams album, how the heck can anyone listen to that? it's just... ugh... it's not even music, just some chavtastic whining noises, I couldn't get out of the shop quick enough.
