WARNING!: If you havent read the 6th book dont read ahead!

So, this is the Harry Potter thread. You can also right about JKR here, obviously. ( Did anyone else know she might make another series after HP? Or she might make a official biography book on all the characters? )
Almost EVERYONE has read these, or atleast heard of them or seen the movies.

What are you opinions on the book?
Who do you think is the mysterious R.A.B?
Favorite character?
How do you think it will end?
WHY are they just so good?
Is Snape really evil?
Did Dumbledore TRULY die?
Can you hardly wait for the final book?!? :yay:

Right, so I was looking through movies and I realized what was missing...
Harry Potter!
How could we miss Harry Potter? It is one of the best stories of all time!
So here we have it: the thread to discuss all your book and movie needsneeds...

What did or didnt you like the movies?
Think they could have been done better?

I love the movies, and I worship the books...
but, I dont like how chopped up the movies are.
The actors are okay. Emma and Dan could be better...
Rupert is a genius though!

What are your opinions?

I CAN HARLDY WAIT FOR OotP MOVIE To COME OUT!! :yay: :yay:

I LOVE the books! You've just no idea how much :D

My favourite character is Ginny, 'cos she doesn't let anyone push her around.

R.A.B? Regulus Black, Sirius' brother.

I'm afraid to say that I think our dear ol' Dumbledore is dead. Harry has to face Voldemort alone. :( You've no idea how much I sobbed my heart out when he was drinking the potion.

Can I wait to the final book? NO!!! And yes...'cos then it'll be over :(

The movies are...not bad, I s'pose. I prefer the books about a bazillion times better. Third of fourth ties for my favourite.
The acting could be better from the kids, though. Rupert's fantastic, Dan's pretty good but Emma...overacts a bit. She's pretty good at some things but some scenes she overacts in.
The special effects are bloody amazing! The dragon! Wow!

I love them also! :D
I love Ron... I dont know why, I just have a thing for goofy red heads :D
I think R.A.B is Regulus also, because...well, for one thing the note says 'To the DARK LORD' and only Death Eaters call him that... but JKR is probably going to pull the rug out from under us. Nothing she writes about is to obvious...

I think Dumbledore is dead also. :( My sister refuses to believe it... I cried for a while. ( and I dont cry easily :o )

I want to know what happens so baaaaaaaaaaaaaad!!!! But I dont want it to be over. :( I want it to keep going and going and going...
and I also think prequel books would be cool :D

Do you think Harry is going to die in the last book? :(

Do you think Harry is going to die in the last book? :(

It's possible. But I think it might disturb all the kiddies. Y'know, Harry Potter, their hero.
I hate to think how much I'd cry. :(

This is for Cats post in the movie thread, which is going to get merged in with this one :D :

No, the movies aren't bad. But I think they could be better. The special effects are BLOODY BRLLIANT! :D
I think Rupert is the best actor out of the kids. I LOVE RUPERT! :D He's just really good, and funny. I look forward to seeing him in other movies. Tom Felton (Draco) is good also. Dan... he is good, and he is getting better. He could be great pretty soon.
Emma.... just...argh... she overacts WAY to much, I think. Sometimes its a bit sickening. She is good, but I think she could use a little acting classes... tone it down a bit.

Also, the books made me start using words like 'bloody hell' and stuff.... I say codswallop sometimes just because that is like.. the funniest word ever! :D

Ok, now for this one....
I dont think he will. JKR would be hated by so many people if she killed off Harry!
I would cry so much.... and Id cry if she killed of Ron also.
Its weird to think a book could make me cry.

I absolutely love the books but I have to say I was slightly disappointed with the films and I think they could have been better. I like Rupert Grint the best too but my sister is utterly infatuated with Daniel Radcliffe

I also think R.A.B is Regulus and that Dumbledore really is dead  but then again, won't he be back in his office in picture form? (y'know where they have all the old headteachers on the wall in the headmasters office)

I cried when Dumbledore died, it was so sad but I was absolutely fuming with Snape. He's so evil and I said from the beginning that he was evil but no one listened to me...grrrr

Must go calm down now

I' m not convinced Dumbledore is dead, or not dead as we normally think of it. There was waht may have been a phoenix flying off there, or he may have somehow faked it. I also believe Prof. Snape is actually trying to help Harry and had to do a lot of nasty things just to make Vordemort believe in him. I truly believe this will be resolved later on. Why else would Snape give Harry advice on how to defend/attack as he was escaping? RAB is indeed probably Black. but Rowling may have made it look too obvious deliberately.

The books have very interesting plots and characters. The writing style isn't exactly the greatest an, alas, I think the quality has slipped some in th elatter books in favor of getting them out before the public loses patience. I do hope she does a good job wrapping things up. Whether or not there might be eventually an eighth book is, of course, pure speculation at this point in time.

Firstly, Daniel Radcliffe couldn't act his way out of a paper bag even if his life depended on it. It's assumed that children are bad actors but will get better, he missed the second part. Secondly, I don't think Snape is evil I think this will become apparent. Snape doesn't like Harry but I believe he will protect him at all costs.

Just a thought

I've been waiting for a Harry Potter discussion. Unfortunately, I'm too tired to actually function right now, so for now, my contribution is this: if you have not yet visited the website Dumbledore is Not Dead yet, you should. I'm not sure if I believe absolutely every word on there, but he brings up some excellent points and really makes you think a lot. So go! It's very insightful.
