Yes - I DO want to give him a great big hug!!! I don't know what part is my favorite! Watching him dance, watching him dance stupidly, watching him smile at his wife and fiance, watching him glare at his best friend......

Oh hell, d**n you Jack Davenport! I'm going to put him on the same pedestal as Johnny Depp at this rate!!

He's really d**n fine and funny!!!!!

OMG. I love Jack Davenport. He's really a great actor. And of course you can't forget all that scruffiness in DMC. And oh that voice. I could listen to him read the phone book for hours.

Just had to post this pic. Just look at him: Yum-Oh :)

Norrie
I couldn't resist mate.

Uhm Norrie, yeah... when I watch DMC and his entrance scene comes, I always turn up the sound so much and just close my eyes and listen to that very very droolworthy voice of his :P

I liked Norrie before, but after DMC it's grown a lot... he's a very cool character and I honestly hope those rumours about him for AWE are not true. Poor Norrie who never gets anything, who appears to fail whatever he's doing. But at least now he got the heart for Beckett, so I hope he'll be better in AWE. As long as he keeps his great sarcasm from DMC... B)

I haven't really seen that much else with Davenport... I have the Libertine, and that's about it. Would love to see more especially historical movies with him. I'd really love to see Mary Bryant, I've seen pics from it and he's looking so yummy...

^ I agree Atrice, I am hoping that Norrie keeps that fantastic sarcasm in his voice. He is good at it. I also hope the rumors I saw aren't true. LIke xiggyx said I could sit and listen to his voice, just reading the phone book.

I have seem him in a few of the movies he has been in. And most all of the coupling series. He is great as Steve on Coupling, and it is so funny. I wanted to see him in some of the others he has been in, but haven't been able to find them on DVD yet.

This always is one of the top comments fans of Jack have of him. His voice. Personally, I think he's capitalizing or has been, fairly well on this--he did voice overs for lots of ads in the UK, naturally, I'd love to see him do that here in the US, but...taking it a step further...I think he'd have a lot of natural talent for being a telemarketer--voice-wise. If I got a call from him trying to sell stuff...you'd better believe that I'd buy whatever it is he is selling.

Well, I can see how he was sarcastic in DMC, but he was fairly sarcastic in the first film as well. It wasn't quite as "in your face" as in DMC, it was a subtler, more refinded and dignified, dry form of sarcasm, but still very much there. I rather prefered his character in the first one, and the delivery of the sarcastic lines--they may have sounded...what was the word most other people used? Ah, yes, pompous. It sure can come off that way I agree, but...it's like when you have the dumb criminals who make off with the GPS devices...you cannot help but be just a tad bit condescending to them.

But Atrice, and LHT--if you haven't seen him in The Talented Mr Ripley...you have to see him in that, he doesn't have the largest role ever, but gets an opportunity to speak a language other than English (mmmm) and...it's just a really fascinating movie anyway.

Well, since we have a few Jack fans on here, who may or may not have seen this it's a short film called The Cookie Thief that he is in. Right on youtube so for those of you who have computers that like that site can get get a quick Jack Davenport fix.

I thought it was a cute kinda funny short...made me hungry for cookies though. ;)

That was really weird, Alia. Thank you for posting! I was kind of wondering if that was going to be the ending, though. I dunno, just... seemed to be coming. *shrug* And Jack didn't talk! The best thing about him is his voice, and I didn't get to hear it! I am so sad. ;)

The ending seemed sort of...obvious I don't think is the right word--but I know what you mean. When I can guess the ending of a movie or whatever, it's usually fairly easy to, since I do abominably on those. Though, there was this one time I figured out the ending to a Twilight Zone episode before the rest of the family, but I think that was a fluke.

I really liked this movie. It was funny. I've heard that story more than once before; I think it was in a Reader's Digest "Laughter, the Best Medicine" or something like that. It really happened! Although not quite in the same way.

Anyway, when she sat down at the table with the empty chair, I figured out it was this story. I even had a suspicion when she bought the cookies. It still made me laugh though.

I probably don't say this very often, being something of a Jack Sparrow fangirl, but Jack Davenport is very attractive. Very. :D And I agree with Tomb that it was a shame that he didn't talk, because I too find his voice rather appealing. ;) Anyone familiar at all with the movies should have recognized him by his voice in DMC before they actually showed his face, and it still gives me chills. It's all deep and... anyway, thanks for posting the movie, Alia! :D

I realise this is a darn old thread (and I read every single post before posting), but I couldn't resist coming here to wave my Scruffy!Norrie Flag *waves it enthusiastically* and to of course mourn the lost of this great character in AWE. I found that the fact that Norrington didn't have scenes with Jack Sparrow at all in this film was heart breaking. Come on, the man spent his life chasing Sparrow around the world (fangirls may see this act of naval duty a little differently *waggles eyebrows)! Norrington even joined his crew. He sunk so low...

Other films I've seen Davenport-sama in: 'The cookie thief'! Loved that short movie. Here's a link to my favourite short film with Depp-sama.

'Coupling' I have all the series on dvd, my favourite episodes being: Captain Subtext (The one with the Cushions), The Mothership, Inferno and Sex, death and Nudity.

TV Adverts: Ford Voice-over I didn't even know you have BBC America until I found this advert promoting 'This Life' link here. I saw 'This Life +10' as well.
