I got the soundtrack for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and after viewing the film I like it a lot. It grew on me while watching the film, I love some of the songs. My favorite is actually "The Room of Requirement"; if you've seen the film, my favorite part of the song is the really loud part that plays while Luna is skipping to the door.
Very good music. Not as good as Williams, more on par with Doyle, but like the Goblet of Fire score, has some truly great moments.

I was listening to my iPod over the weekend as I had a few long train journeys. As always with me it was a fairly eclectic mix but the ones I kept going back to were Beethoven's Violin Concerto, Mozart's Requiem (the Dies Irae and the Lacrimosa are just perfect) and some songs from Black Holes and Revelations by Muse. I can easily attribute my love of Beethoven and Mozart to my upbringing (in addition to my natural good taste :D) and I just love Muse. Despite Matt Bellamy's breathy falsetto being a constant their music just seems to evolve with every album. From Showbiz with it's raw guitars, feedback and acoustic dalliances to the space-pop-with-catchy-electronic-basslines of Black Holes via the sheer mad brilliance of Origin of Symmetry with it's fantastic keyboard hooks and savage guitar riffs. I love Muse. Oh yeah, I also saw Lemar playing live at Ascot on Saturday. Will |

I found my Weezer CD and have been listening to that for the past few days now. I love rediscovering bands or musicians that I haven't listened to in a while. Which reminds me, I need to dig up my recording of Taboo as I haven't listened to that since November. |

I've made a mix of all the best music from all the Harry Potter movies in order to get myself even more excited for Saturday... We're playing in the car on the way to the store on Saturday! |

I have quite a few 'Best of' playlists; I really like them, and being able to just kick back to the best songs without having to bother skipping around or anything. Recently I've been listening to mostly my Harry Potter one and my Firefly/Serenity one, and oddly enough the Freddy vs. Jason soundtrack (not the score). I'm not quite sure why, I guess because I just watched Dream Warriors and New Nightmare, but I like a few of the songs. Safe to say most of tomorrow and Friday are devoted to finishing Half-blood Prince so I'll have that Harry Potter playlist on all day and night. Oh, and for Deahtly Hallows too, of course! |

My other half is out for the evening with colleagues so that means I get to listen to whatever I want while I amuse myself. It's a nice chance to have a meander through my CD collection at leisure. So far there's been a bit of Django Reinhardt, The Buena Vista Social Club (perfect for a sunny evening), I think it's time for a bit of punk soon. Will |

Been listening to a lot of The Threepenny Opera lately. I'm fond of "Tango Ballad", particularly with the newest revival's revisions. It's so hard to find that translation, though. The song itself is so amazing, and I would love to sing it someday. |

I'm currently listening to Canon Rock, Jerry C's cover of Pachelbel's Canon on the electric guitar (find it on Youtube). I think if there was a way of conveying the meaning of the word 'awesome' through sound then this would be it. |

The Mountain Goats and The Lucksmiths, indie-pop has been my niche lately. |
